Annual Lake Mead trip

Brejden and Jillian swimming

We had the chance to head to the houseboat with Dad and the girls. We had such a great time! The kids (or me) didn't want to leave! It was very relaxing and just fun swimming, especially when it's in the 100's! The water was the perfect temperature for me!!
Kept opening and closing the gate!

Cartr wouldn't swim. He just enjoyed playing on the boat by opening and closing the gate, over and over. He liked sitting on the beach, but if he couldn't touch, he cried (okay, screamed)! He did enjoy being at the lake too!
His ears look huge!!
We couldn't get Brejden out of the water! He had such a fun time swimming! I can't believe how big he has gotten! I called him a little fish and he told me "I'm not a fish Mom! I'm a boat!" So he takes after his Grandpa Schmutz!!

Out cold!
Cartr fell asleep on the boat within minutes of us going for a ride. It was so warm, I felt so bad because of how much he was sweating! He loved it though!

Jillian and Mily

Sara, Jordanne and Brejden

Mily learned that a life jacket keeps you from sinking. As soon as she figured that out, she quit trying to drown everyone. She loved the water, until my Dad thought he was being funny and dropped her in and she got her head under. Then it took us a day and a half to get her to go back in.
The picture of Jordanne is of her dunking Cartr. He was asleep and so hot, we dunked him into the lake and he didn't even wake up! It was pretty funny!

Brejden and Jillian knee boarding!
This is Brejden and Jillian knee boarding. I am such an overprotective mother, I was a nervous wreck having him out there! He really did such a great job doing it and had the biggest grin ever! I was so proud and still nervous!!! He talks about it all the time and he can't wait until Grandpa takes us out again.

I have always loved boating and now, watching my kids enjoy it too, makes me so happy for the memories I have growing up at the lake. I missed my Mom quite a bit, knowing she'd be so proud of my kids and how much they've grown. I am so grateful to my Dad for taking us and being patient with me and being scared to let Brejden go out of the boat on his own. It was a growing experience for all of us!!
