Well, my kids had their first lamb show! I can't even believe that it happened, I am NOT an animal person (other than my dog)! The local 4-H group had their lamb show on Saturday, May 8. They both did pretty good. Luckily, they weren't judged and didn't have to hold the lamb to show it. They just had to walk it around the arena with Linley and Alexia White helping them.
Mily was pretty scared of the lamb at first, she was afraid that they would eat her! (You know, those baby lambs can be pretty vicious). Renee carried her around for a bit, and then she finally got a little more comfortable with the situation, and let Alexia carry her.
Brejden was pretty eager to do the show after he found out he would get a prize. He was coupled with Linley and she was so good to help him. He was the most excited when he got to see one of the lambs poop. He had to come and tell me about it and then pointed to where it had pooped. Such a boy!
I was so proud of both of them and it seemed like they had a good time. The best part was, I didn't have to raise the lambs or even touch them... they just used the White girls' lambs. It was fun watching, but I doubt we'll ever have any animals other than a dog! (Hopefully I don't end up eating my words!)
